H. Schwartz & Sons manufactures a line of High Tunnel / Cold Frames for commercial farming and nursery operations. Cold frame / High Tunnels are unheated structures that can extend the growing season for plants, flowers, vegetables, and fruit.  They can be used year round. Our "cold frame" model differs from our "greenhouse" model in that the hoops on our cold frame are made with a single piece of pipe (usually 21 or 24 foot long) while the greenhouse has a two piece hoops assemble. Our "cold frames" are available in standard widths of 14 & 16 foot with a center peak height of 6'6" to 8 foot. Extra height may be achieved by using our optional extra long ground sleeves. Our design is the "half moon" arch.  Our houses are made from either schedule 40 or SS40 galvanized steel pipe! Each house includes:

25 hoops - 4 foot spacing for a 96 foot long house (custom lengths available)

50 ground sleeves

1 center ridge purlin with connectors

25 crossover clamp purlin connectors (no holes drilled in our hoops)
